LIGNASE

BREAKS DOWN THATCH -

WITHOUT DISRUPTING THE PLAYING SURFACE

Enzyme-driven lignin degradation for sustainable turfgrass management.

Lignase is a complex blend of enzymes and co-factors that is proven to break the strong lignin bonds resistant to microbial degradation.

Lignase reduces the need for costly mechanical operations and large quantities of sand topdressing.

Traditional Approach

  • Massive Disruption from Mechanical Operations

  • High Inputs of Costly Sand

  vs. Lignase

  • No Surface Disruption

  • Reduced Mechanical Operations

  • Vastly Reduced Topdressing Sand

Lignase breaksdown the super-strong lignin bonds that prevent soil microbes from accessing the glucose structures of  cellulose and hemi-cellulose.

How to use Lignase

Dilute 1 litre in 300-400 litres of water per hectare every 4-6 weeks.

Apply from end April to end September, when soil temperature are +10C, and no more than six applications per year.

HOW DOES LIGNASE WORK?

Lignase targets the toughest barrier in thatch degradation - lignin.

How do we know this? Independant analysis of trials show a 22% REDUCTION in Klason lignin (the lignin that is most resistant to decay by microbes), and a 19% REDUCTION in Total Lignin.
